A Sports massage is a more specific, often deeper massage which uses techniques to target the client's main concerns such as: muscle tension, aches/pains, limited Range of movement, muscle weakness/dysfunction/imbalances ,stiffness, trigger points, injuries and overall sports performance.
The main goal is to use high level sports massage techniques, that are simple but effective, in order to work with the body to suit the individual (not to cause unnecessary pain or damage!)
The techniques used range from: trigger point therapy, myofascial release, soft tissue release, muscle energy techniques, positional release, corrective frictions, stretching, effleurage, petrissage etc.
